What customers say?

“ Lovely cafe with lots of cosy rooms going back into the building as well as seating outside in the pedestrianised street with views into the square and to the roman baths. ”

“ came here with my sister today we were about to order the beef lasagna, but the waiter kindly let us know it had red wine. as a muslim, i really appreciated that thoughtfulness. we ended up getting the salmon spinach cream cheese frittata instead — sooo good! also had hot chocolate, which was perfect for the cold winter weather one of the waiters even noticed our table was a bit shaky and put tissue under it without us asking — such a small thing but really thoughtful. loved the service, loved the vibes. the restaurant is super aesthetic too highly recommend! ”

“ We had a fantastic experience here! Came initially for the Bridgerton connection, but would definitely come back for the food if I'm ever in the area! We both had delicious food and drinks, and as I was buying merch at the end I was considering buying a mince pie to try as we'd both never had one, and the barista was kind enough to give us a sample! 10/10 thank you! ”

“ Very pleasant. Lovely location near the abbey and covered in wisteria which is lovely. Inside is friendly and casual. Tables in three rooms. Great that they are not crammed in, plenty of room and good size variation from 8 to 2 seats per table. Music is chilled and relaxing old classics. Service is timely, friendly and good. Food is fine. What it lacks in presentation it more than makes up in taste. Decor is nice dark wood panel generated a kind of homely atmosphere and art abounds, pictures everywhere. The back room is most quirky with teacups attached to the ceiling and a light airy feel with floral paper. Really nice and relaxed in a busy area. ”

“ A very cute little cafe that was featured in the Netflix series Bridgerton! Very nicely decorated with special different features that made every corner unique. Plenty of spacing both inside and outside, and lots of treats to buy. Staff were super friendly and even recommended visiting the bathroom to see the photos from the tv show. Loved the coffee cup decorations and the simple English breakfast tea was great for a colder day. ”

“ Lovely afternoon treat at the 'Modiste' to round off a weekend in Bath including a Bridgerton Walking Tour. We were drawn in by the affiliation with the show but the food was truly delicious, the quiche, sausage roll and cakes were shared were lovely. Friendly staff and a brilliant location. ”

- Heather Dickin -

“ Lots of tea, beans separated on the breakfast, if you like that. Sausage was excellent, high quality meat. ”

“ Really loved the place and the atmosphere it has! We ordered a bacon and a sausage sandwich and they were both really delicious. Also ordered a banana smoothie, very nice as well! Really nice place to sit and relax. ”
